I suppose their argument is that if you want to hear these dubplates and truly experience them then you will go to their dances. If mala released all of his material then it would get rinsed and their special quality will fade. I don't really think it's 'stubborn' they would also argue with this saying that they don't owe us anything which is fair enough because at the end of the day it is their music and they can do what they want. Obv I would love all these tunes but I'm quite happy to wait and appreciate the special quality that they haveMaxR wrote:source?Grind wrote:"just a beat" is staying on dub.....
I love dmz (mystikz & loefah) for their music, but I hate their stubborn dubplate attitude. I get the concept of keeping tunes fresh for yourself and close ones when you're playing out, but in the end tunes will be forgotten / not played anymore. for instance intergalactic, what's the use in keeping it dub for ages, then letting people forget about it? or releasing tunes that are MAD old (new life baby paris par example)? not that I don't like the fact that new life finally came out, but it's a bit strong innit..
this. joe is the whole reason conference even ever got released. so i wouldnt be surprised to see city cycle on DMZ at some point. but who knows. only a small select few even know when/what is next, etcdjrodan wrote:also joe nice has put city cycle on the 'conference treatment', meaning hes going to play it every month until it gets released. hes played it on gourmet beats radio march - june...

Dmz - intergalactic
loefah - struck dumb
both very old, both still very wanted. and intergalactic was SUPPOSED to come out on the dubstepforum.com label e? so it's not as if they wanted to keep it a dubplate..

L: For me the core labels in dubstep are Deep Medi, Hyperdub and Tempa.
S: Not DMZ, no?
L: For one, I’m not going to say it because it’s my label already. But DMZ’s interesting, it’s at an interesting point. We set a trend but where do you go with that now? And to be honest I don’t really want to talk anymore on tape about it.
I remember reading that thinking it was quite strange, adds to the whole dmz mystiqueajantis_art wrote:i'm not holding out much hope for a resurgance of dmz releases anytime soon. loef doesnt seem to talk that enthusiastically about it...
