big up stench

Q1 = when you start a tune do you have a compressor or limiter of any kind on the main output in reason? do you use that mastering suite in Reason 4??

Q2 = i was surprised when i found out you use Reason, as your kicks and snare always seem so prominent in the mix, Reason sometimes seems to eat away the punch of drums when you have big bass sounds too... so do you use any sidechain compression when making tracks?

Q3 = What monitors you rocking?

Q4 = PLEASE let me have 'Lets Rock!' PLEEEASE!! i heard you been playing some of me tunes, swappsies!! haha :D

yo stenchman!

can you tell me the name of the tune that was dropped in the smelly show on 3/12/09 at 17min25sec? it's definitely one of your sick creations - is it gonna be released? you better do so 'cause i'm ceartainly not the only one whos going nutz on that one ;)

and another question: could you assign certain components of suspicious stench tunes to either you or suspect? for example that the drums mostly come from one of you, while the melodies generally derive from the other one - or is it different each time you make a tune?

Do you think dubstep is becoming to commercial to quickly... like to many people wanna be the next Rusko, caspa, stench or scream and not enough people want to be original and want to take the sound further???

Love your stuff by the way... so beatnic is your best tune to date....Class mate!!!!

Big up Stench.

Hey I've always noticed on your older release "I Make" the intro drums seem to fly around a lot, almost go off-beat. Was this purposely done or did I just get a bad version of it?

not when i start out but i use the mastering suite sometimes when a tune is finished and mixed down

sometimes a bit of sidechain but only if things are sounding a bit fatiguing, i jus tend to build it up until it sounds suitably meaty

edirol shit ones, altho i jus nicked suspects krks to do some mixdowns on this week, makes me realise how shit mine are!

i dunno man its not really a bad thing that more ppl are loving it and want to emulate the sound they love, its a natural thing to want to do, and usually thats the kind of thing that leads to a kind of progression, i mean when i started i was the same i wanted to make tunes similar to ppl that were doin it, but with my own touches to it, and then u sort of create ur own style from there. so as long as ppl aint jus trying to make exact re-writes of tunes that are already out s'all good imo.

not essential but its good to have some kind of compression/eq/maximising on the whole thing so it sounds nice on a system, altho if it sounds good enough to play raw then play it raw, its a system of trial and error really, once u played a track out once and took note u know what to do when u get home!
