Ableton is the stale surgery room of DAW's imo :p
A better analogy is Ableton is the tits of DAW's and FL is the shits of DAW's.
How about they are both a screwdriver in your tool chest, one is blue, one is grey. Pick your color of choice

Even then, this is a really annoying way of splitting Mid and Side, with the EQs. Just use the utility, put one chain to 200 % wide (Side) and one chain to 0 % wide (Mid).

been having problems with subs recently, they sound fine in ableton but when i export the track they just sound like this:
Soundcloud
i've had the opposite problem before where it would sound like that in the DAW but export fine but that managed to fix itself somehow
would really appreciate any help with this, it's reet annoying

sounds like its being compressed into whats almost a square wave, your mix is being compressed one way or another

RmoniK wrote:sounds like clipping to me.

yeah basically if you compress a sine it goes from looking like my display picture to looking like this
make sure its not too loud and dont have a compressor on your master before the mastering stage
even if you havnt mastered it, soundcloud compresses it down so that can cause the sub to lose its weight

Try to cut everything beneath 30 Hz.

i think i've probably been over-compressing, i just listened to the full track on different speakers and it sounded horrible and flat. cheers!

really? i thought it was good to have some sub around there for the real chest-rattling feel?

people can hear down to 20hz, you want to keep the rumble on the bottom end

From experience, the area where sub hits the hardest is 40 Hz. Also, when you're an adult i really doubt if you would be able to hear till 20 Hz. I always cut it, for some reason mp3 conversion doesn't react well to sub.

any high end car audio system, 40hz will feel like 60hz when you see how loud 20-35hz can be.

Try changing the soundcard your using. I know there is a difference when I export with my pc's stock one or asio4all

If the sample is loaded into a drum rack, drag the effect right on to the sample and it will only affect that one and none of the other samples in the drum rack. Let me know if you need me to be clearer.

Check you map settings in the preferences window. Are both the input and output boxes lit yellow for the APC40?
