+ not involving mc's just hinders the sound if anything though.

back onto fred topic - im sure if these man got someone to ride over all these beats on their rinse show it would be sick. it should happen tbh.

I wasn't trying to get at "let's give it a name", more that what's about is just a bit less defined. For now.

Looks ridiculous, really hope there will be a vinyl release for this. Shortly after Boddikas nonplus+ compilation as well, spoilt for good music atm :D

I think the point is they only sign the best ones (Wen, Beneath, Visionist, Logos). But this is what I love about Keysound/Dusk + Blackdown right now, cos they'll play the dark 130 stuff alongside a bit of Mista Men, or E.m.m.a. or LV or whatever. Injects so much colour and variety. And variety is what I'm digging right now, personally I would find it very boring if we just moved solely into "dark 130" territory.

No disrespect meant to anyone at all.
i do also feel, however, that discussions like this, and labels like "dark 130", and pre-emptive descriptions of how the scene is, and how it will develop, do just as much damage. i'm not saying that scene developments shouldn't be discussed, but determining that a certain fledgling offshoot is somehow destined to fail and become generic after so little time of exploration and development is often done too hastily. i think it's far too early to define any of these producers as some single sound, they're all doing sick things and taking completely different sound palates and textures, the only things unifying them is (roughly) bpm (although most do stuff at 140 and 120 and all sorts as well) and a loose "less is more" aesthetic.

i don't mean this to sound like an attack on you - it's not; you're being completely fair and balanced. like I say, I just sort of take against discussions of genre that take this tone
I think these are all valid points but I just want to make it clear that I wasn't saying that it's destined to fail or turn into "rebore grime", just that there is a danger that that could happen (not with keysound though, i can't see that happening). Kind of like discussions I remember about "what happened to jungle will never happen to dubstep". ...... yeah.

That compilation looks fucking large. Cannot wait.
