Nope, just this video.
Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Alot of those listed just DJ with it and some others mentioned mix down in Logic and only use it as an arrangement tool though, but whatever.Hostile Invasion wrote:http://www.ableton.com/pages/artists/listPerej wrote:
In theory there's no difference, but how many studios use live?
Funny thing is, a guy was asking on the ableton forums a while back 'Can anyone give me a list of professional artists using Ableton?' Now, the funny thing was they were all saying 'oh not another one of these threads' and 'loads of people' but none of them actually answered the question, they all just dodged it... why? Cos it's just that.... outside of bedroom producers, there's not many.
It sounds thin. Make a track in Logic and one in Ableton and A/B it. It doesn't sound as warm. Sorry.
Just to name a few pro artists.
If you suck at making something sound good in a certain DAW that's your problem, not the DAW's.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
anyone using the ableton drum machines that you can buy off the website? they are really great clean hits but I want to find the WAV's individually so that I can load each drum into it's own sampler instead of having them as a kit in a drum rack where ableton's fucked about with all the parameters.
I've looked through my whole mac but can't seem to find the actual wavs themselves.

Open up the drum rack and select the simpler/sampler that the samples in, drag this to it's own channel.Perej wrote:anyone using the ableton drum machines that you can buy off the website? they are really great clean hits but I want to find the WAV's individually so that I can load each drum into it's own sampler instead of having them as a kit in a drum rack where ableton's fucked about with all the parameters.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
I wasn't blaming anything on the DAW, it was merely an observation. I love Ableton and would never go back to FL.

Kinda works but it's in multi-sample mode which presumably is because it was made by Ableton themselves. Still, thanks.

Right click top of the simpler, convert to sampler. Then it won't be in multisample mode. Click the zone tab then drag the zone over the whole keyboard so it behaves like a sample you would have entered manually if that's what your after

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
if it says in simpler that it's in multisample mode the right click where it says that and then select "show in browser" and it will take you to the sample.Perej wrote:sound!

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Alright people!
So I've recently acquired one of these...

Behringer BCR2000
For those that don't know it's basically just a panel with loads of assignable midi rotary knobs.
So my question is...
I want to be able to create a device like a rack, assign a midi mapping to loads of parameters, eg. a sampler or a synth.. Save it and then have it so that every time I load the device the midi mappings I've created on it will load as well? And also say if I have two of the devices loaded in a project, that the one I have armed in Ableton will be the one that my tweaking adjusts and not the original.
Is this possible in any way?
Much appreciated,
Dave.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
still having problems with exporting sub bass
i've tried exporting from a different soundcard and it still keeps making subs sound like this:
Soundcloud
that's a sub i've exported with no EQ or compression on it and neither the track nor the master is clipping
what do? any help would be very much appreciated

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Are you talking about the clicks? Zero crossings.
Try adding a bit of a slower attack and release, 1 voice, then low-pass.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
can none of you hear the sort of squeaking/trebley sound? you often get it with soundcloud compression but it sounds like that on the wav in audacity or whatever
suppose it could be my soundcard fucking up with subs in general if not but it sounds fine in the daw itself
edit - listened to that clip on another computer and it sounded fine... now i need to try and work out why my soundcard doesn't like sub bass from my own tracks but is fine with it in others
