Wobble was around long before dubstep. It is just an lfo tied to a filter and you could do that stuff in the 60's. Plenty of wobbles can be heard on old funk records.

I don't know who started the wobble. But the thing i do know is that it's getting on my nerves lately. I used to love wobbles and still do sometimes.. But it's like producers spend time looking for the 1 synth wobble sound for their style then using that same sound in each tune. With a little different effect or rate uin each tune.. :roll:
