Sorry for your loss man, that really sucks. I am also considering making the switch to CDJ's even though at the moment I am on technics + serato. Still debating.

Get the CDJ-400's. Affordable, sleek, and you can mix from USB sticks and don't have to keep burning CDs. Best thing on the market until the 900's and 2000's drop in price considerably.

Last weekend I was gonna DJ at a friend's kick back at his house and these drunk fools started fighting and I tried to break it up and I got sucker punched. By the time I had cleaned myself up there was only ONE CDJ where all my shit was at. The next morning I found out the other DJ had grabbed it in the scuffle so nothing got fucked up; but I was seriously shitting a brick at how terrible that night was till he gave me a call. Worst feeling ever.

I got a set of Pioneer 800's. Not the chepeast but the feel is pretty much the same as the Pioneer 1000's etc that are Industry standard these days

I started of with a set of Denons but upgraded to the Pioneers which in my opinion are different league and well recommended

I got them online as a deal. something like £1200 and on 0% interest.
All done and delivered in three working days :-)
