this is a tough question..

Farewell my Concubine..?

because it is all about issues that I am currently dealing with..

class struggle..
personal dychotomies..
entitlement...

One of the reasons I am such a great fan of asian existential work is,
that both the good and bad characters, and situations - posesses both positive and negative qualities at any given time-
..is so hard to make judgements

..that is "The Unbearable Lightness of Being"

I just sat there at the end of that unable to move.

Just like W .... T ... F

EDIT: Soundtrack is fuckin' killer aswell.
I actually reckon it's the best film I've ever seen... I've only managed to watch it twice because it damages my happiness quite a bit each time I do. Brilliant.
I only watched it because it had music by the bloke from Pop Will Eat Itself in it but it was dead good. Pi's good as well.

Neither of them is as good as Spartacus though.
I've never seen Spartacus.

I bought Clash of the Titans on DVD last year in order to educate Amy prior to our visit to Athens.... tbh, I only paid for a holiday to Athens as an excuse to watch Clash of the Titans.

I'd quite like to watch The Vikings again.
I saw it recently. They don't make them like that any more!

If they made it now they'd have Tony Curtis rescuing Kirk Douglas from Janet Leigh. And CGI sword fights choreographed to 80s pop music. And it would be SHIT.

The very definition of the word 'Epic'. I love that film.

And Pinch and Kode9.

I wouldn't describe it as "epic", though.

Your sig expresses how I feel about this perfectly...

They've been out of original ideas for some time now, I was reading they are also making a Monopoly game movie (Ridley Scott)...uhhh..

As for epic films though, I can't really name a "most epic" one, but i'll throw Dances with Wolves into the list. It's by definition a true epic, and it's a very good film. Seen it many times over the years. Since I mentioned Ridley Scott, it reminded me of Gladiator - another great one. Couple of others that come to mind: The Shawshank Redemption, 2001: A Space Odyssey

Yeah, fair point. I don't see the point in remaking films generally but if it's done well it will get a new generation of kids interested in mythology. It did that for me (aged five).

Good shout on Apocalypse Now Redux. Coppola fans in Bristol may like to know they've got copies of the Godfather DVD box set in Rise for a tenner. I'm planning on getting one to replace my VHS copies of the first two.
