both have a time and place!

should get back into doing lighter beats again, been really wrapped up in the 'big drums' thing recently, gets a bit dull after a while.

depends on mood of track, but i'm a fan of the proper balance of natural sounding mixed with machine drums for perfection, but that could be light or heavy

I'm really getting into the light drums... you can make more interesting rythms, more variations.. with the 200hz snare you can't vary it too much or you'll get a headache.. that said, a nice fat drum track can be lovely. Particularly if it's a stutters. I love the drums in Wear the Crown by Dq1
