isnt based totally around drugs, but theres a couple of scenes, if you have ever been under the influence of strong psychedelics, well, quite powerful film indeed
Mint film but definitely not recomended viewing while under the influence!
Re: Trippy Films
star trek the beginning.... I defy anyone to make sense of this film when they're stoned to fuck.

For All Mankind.
It’s made up of real footage of the Apollo landings and has lush music by Brian Eno. Amazing film.
I wish I’d known about it during my acid phase.

I watched this due to your Choke recommendation when I was coming down after a rave. Rave culture and the Space Programme are the best things the 20th Century ever gave us.uncle bill wrote:For All Mankind.

Re: Trippy Films
anyone seen Destino, the Dali/Disney movie being released next year? its on youtube.
its fucking beautiful. modern computer animation of Dali sketches & storyboards from the 30s...
I cannot help but wonder how Dali & Disney thought they would complete this project back then!

yep, I'd been looking for a full version for years and finally found it a while back on youtube, I did actually post it in the hideout. We should resurrect the thread.adikt wrote:anyone seen Destino, the Dali/Disney movie being released next year? its on youtube.

Re: Trippy Films
Fando y Lis, El Topo & The Holy Mountain are all excellent brainfuck movies from the big man Alejandro Jodorowsky.
Japanese flick Gozu is probably the most insanely trippy movie I've ever seen. It didn't help that I watched it when I was a few squares past regular thought. It's a great movie all the same. You should also see Ichi the Killer (another Miike film).
South Korea's Vengeance trilogy (Sympathy, Old Boy & Sympathy) are all pretty surreal. Park Chan-wook has made a lot of great movies. One of his latest, I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK, is great. Lovely movie, strange as fuck. Well worth seeing. I think Film4 have it playing later on this week at some point.
Stalker is very ethereal and strange but it's one of the most majestic and beautiful movies I've ever seen. You need to get on that one 100%.
i'll dae more later when I can be arsed.
