every time i think i am getting good, i hear something that makes me realize im not really that good.
however, it probably took me about 7 years to get to what i consider 'acceptable'. although tbh about 3 or 4 of those years i was just pissing about and didn't really take it very seriously. or even listen to much electronic music.

Trust me you have just began! Your work is immense, to expand your target audience maybe you should look into some deep "dubstep" ? You said your going to have your first physical release dropping in Feb ? Which songs are they going to be?
Keep crafting Depone!

Nice song man, are you going to be releasing it?
Back on topic, I've only been producing for a month and a half now so I know my tracks are pretty shit, still each time I feel I'm getting better. Maybe one day I'll be able to release a track that people would want to buy.

About 5 years, but in the last two have started feeling a lot more confident in my sound and am having much more fun.
The learning curve once you get over the 'does it sound ok?' thing, and start to loosen up a bit with the production is pretty steep.

The worst thing to to (which i did) was to take a lot of songs on a cd, thinking that your shit hot and get the geeza behind the counter to play it...
Worst feedback ever (was around 2-3 years ago when i was producing Nu Skool Breaks).
Tore me apart

If you are looking to improve your theory knowledge the ABRSM theory grades are good, they go from grade 1 to 8, same as instrument grades. You can probably find a private theory teacher which can cost similar to instrument lessons but you will pick stuff up fast and you can specialise it to your needs (composition)
