Its elitist bullshit and needs to stop. The End. :t:
you got it all wrong, son. guess where the elitist bullshit is. as far as I know, ppl who like this "brostep" stuff also know DMZ, Hyperdub, Applepips, Tectonic, Hotflush stuff. does it work the other way around? guess not.. it's music, some like it ruff some like it mellow. grow up if you can't grow a pair. I don't know what is this damage you are talking about. what scene? your "elitist" scene up in Croydon? let the music play and if you dont like it at least show some respect as from human to human. if you want to bash other music try national-socialist metal or stupid MTV mainstream crap.

and for the record, I think there are more girls listening brostep (from Rusko to Excision) than pre-2006 "classic" dubstep. the rest of the "bro" motif is just jokes, self-irony, something some people will never be able to do because of their stupid ego. damn, do we have to turn everything into a competition?

It sounds like were saying the same thing here... + the 'scene' is the whole of dubstep; breaking it into different sub genres and taking the piss out of jump up ravey dubstep and who ever likes it is the 'damaging' part. Seems like you miss-understood my point; I'm saying its lame to look down on people who like mid range wobble, and labelling it Brostep doesn't really help as it segregates tunes and listeners, hence the 'elitist' thing.

Now lets put on some Rusko and have a cuddle :w:

yeah I didnt get your point in the first place, thought you were hating when you said "why bother recognizing it as a real thing". it's all good, long live dubstep and brostep and darkstep and 2-step and cheese-step and everything else

I like brostep forum because people are more accepting there and DSF has no brocabulary.

I'm not a fan of brogore, but I associate with people who are, and I can accept their broish ways.
This interview made me lol. But the whole thing about variety is also fair enough. It's the spice of life and so on, no point hating.

Where has brostep even come from? Why has someone made the forum which specialises on a certain sound of dubstep, I don't understand why catagorising Borgore, Excision, Datsik etc even matters? I am a girl and I've personally moved away from this and like more down tempo, mellower dubstep and even pre-2006 dubstep as it was put somewhere, but catagorising it and making such a big deal over certain artists with the 'Brostep' sound has really just put me off it a bit. Just my opinion though I suppose.

But I liked the interview James was definatly an interesting read :)
