Get something that fits your room. Don't get too bassy in a small space. I actually had big, 'impressive' monitors before I got the BM6As and although they were loud and my mates thought they were good, they overpowered my room and my mixes were always shat.
my man Ghozt just got a pair of these

beautiful speakers

Dynaudio,PMC and Genelec make the best monitors in the world imo

Yeah, they're all nice speakers. ADAMS, too. I just tried them all until I found the qualities I needed . The 15As were good, but a little too small for my room. Still, amazing clarity. A lot of people use them, and without a sub, too.

what are you talking about?

the 15A's are huge! 9.5" woofer they play down to 30 Hz whereas the 6A's play to 42 Hz

I have Tapco S8's (Mackie's budget range), flat response to 40 hz and sound pretty good for the price. I don't really know enough to compare them to other monitors though...

hey yeah I got the orig tannoy reveals. These any better for bass?

Most of my mixes come out far to bassy. Was thinking about buying a sub to fix that tho.

I have a pair of Paradigm Titan's. My friend used to work for Paradigm and he has personally measured them to be extremely flat. They definately sound clear, as much as that is subjective. They are marketed as bookshelf speakers, not monitors, but the perfomance/price is pretty crazy. Here is a pair for sale: http://cgi.ebay.com/PARADIGM-V2-V-2-TIT ... dZViewItem

i love my event project studio 8 monitors. i listened to a ton of monitors after a friend lent me these, and i hated them all. lucky for me he decided to sell them to me.

the KRKs are great for hearing the frequencies in the mix (which, i admit is what monitors are for), but they make my ears want to cry. i tested tunes mixed on my Events on the KRKs and they definitely told me where everything sat in the mix. But they also told me that my Events did the trick perfectly and mine didn't make me want to stick painkillers in my eardrums after a long session.

for a lower priced monitor from event, there are also these:
