Lovin Joy Orbison right now man listenin to this stuff is a breath of fresh air, not bland at all imo it's just simple and it makes perfect sense.

The José James blackmagic tune is great and like the rest I agree the LoveCry remix is absolutely amazing.

I reckon it'll grow on you, who knows...

Very good producer, the hype sort of killed Hyph Mango for me though.

Music should translate on any system. I'm pretty tired of the "big system" mentallity. Just because you can't "feel it" doesn't mean you shouldn't still be able to "hear it." Push those ipod headphones down in your ear a bit and you'll feel the bass. Maybe not in your chest, but definitely in your brain.

The system is not the cake, it's the icing. Without it you still have cake. If you don't, I wonder what eating a tub of icing will do for you in the long run. In the short term you'll be buzzed, but in the long term you'll be toothless and have a stomach ache. Eat the cake.

This tune was great but way overhyped. Even online record shop reviews mentioned how overhyped and ridiculous the thing was. That and Wet Look is way better. Not even on the same level IMO.
It's Dubstep, who cares?

im liking the blackmagic remix more. when i heard him first i really couldnt make sense of the hype. i dont know how hes a "breath of fresh air" imo falty DL has already done this style and more.

I'm also a little puzzled by the hype. Hyph Mngo is alright but its the kind of thing that gets way more love from critics than the public. I wouldn't say his drums are bland, but there's nothing here that feels transformative either. It's garagy and colourful which gets it major brownie points from people sick of half-step filth but I'm clearly missing the element that's landing it on so many year-end lists. It just feels kind of...polite to me.

Nothing personal against the chap though, big up to his success even if it's not my cup of tea.

yea all the good shit is on doldrums. i think hes a good producer but i do agree that hes too hyped. Hyph Mngo was good, but not that good. was all about wet look.

i've always thought FaltyDL has a slightly different style, different vibes, different energy. . . more mashup and more introspective than Joy Orbison's feel good party vibe.

Hyph Mngo is amazing, best tune to come out of this scene in years.
