Re: Burials Pops...
I don't know why everybody worships burial so much, frankly i find it rather bland. But I did find a VST http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/vinyl/ can give you that funky vynl sound. Enjoy.
Re: Burials Pops...
Not being into his style is one thing but you cannot call Burial bland. His tracks may not be in your face dancefloor fillers but they have so much feeling because its all free like a live band. His tracks also show so much originally its Untrue.LordBid wrote:I don't know why everybody worships burial so much, frankly i find it rather bland.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Re: Burials Pops...
Is this the same thread where I was told to sample it?
Most of the sounds ppl are trying to replicate from Burials tracks are things that were not planned by himself even. I would suggest you stop trying to mimic someone’s atmosphere tricks and create your own:)
And I never at all said I wanted to mimic burial. I despise minamalism, no offense ot him, burials an exception, but, that sound was just really hauntingly good, so, I wnated something similar in my library.
N I need two minutes becasue Im cool like that

I ended up sampling my mic in the jack half way, and then running a noise removal over it too take out background...

Re: Burials Pops...
Fruity Loops has a built-in plug that just makes vinyl noise when you tell it to start, or click Play... whatever
there's also taking a sample like this and either chopping that up or looping for the duration of your tune and panning that/filtering it/automating reverb on it etc....

Yeah, I found something like that right after I posted tat last bit, called iZotope Vinyl, big for the link dude!! pretty sick bit of effect right there, its normally meant for processing sounds, but I noticed that if you turn the controls for turntable noise and electrical hum, it produces a very nice drune that, when layered with reverbs and more of itself, produces the effect I was looking for too a T.
Check that one out ohfuture vistor with the same question.
EDIT: N I forgot too mention automate the turning on and off of a few of them accross a period if your going for an extended sample like I was, else it gets kind of loopy, which was what nI wanted too avoid in the first palce.
