gommorrah has been dramatised for the cinema, dude... come on, check yourself here.
This is to true. 'Pikey' round here has come to just mean skank, which is fucking wrong.danrev wrote:
Think the term "pikey" is a bit too broad to be put in the same context as nig-nog.

Not at all right as its making false links between Gypsies (which yes I'm aware again isn't the correct term) who mainly don't cause much trouble at all and twats/chavs who just happen to live in vans and caravans.
Gypsie and Pikey arn't really used to describe the same thing at all anymore.

Wait , Are we agreeing? Or not? Its all got a bit much.Firkles wrote:leftdub wrote:This is to true. 'Pikey' round here has come to just mean skank, which is fucking wrong.danrev wrote:

Basically tr0tksy is right, although the word may not carry as much gravitas as '*******r' or' paki' it is still extremely offensive when used to describe travelers. It is a racial slur. I must admit I don't like the word 'chav' either as it's often used to attack working classes but thats another argument
thats why i said it only scratches the surface, the settings on the other hand were real places where people actually live...Firkles wrote:gommorrah has been dramatised for the cinema, dude... come on, check yourself here.

good work, you've managed to miss my point completely.tr0tsky wrote:Gwan then, gender.
I'll give you a tenner if you start mincing around Dalston calling every black man you walk passed a nig-nog.
I double dare you.
Don't want to get in to a big argument, but some of those 'names' have bigger implications and a huge weight of terrible history on them. If the mississippi delta had been populated exclusively by people who wear baseball caps and burberry, the world would be a different place.gender wrote:i hate all this political correctness bullshit thats going round
pikey, paki, nig nog, chav are all just names used to describe groups of people.. who cares??? its a name. if someone called me white boy i wouldn't care
gay
What a fine specimen of man, I definitely would.DRTY wrote:Jus another name for a chav. Who cares what it technically is.
