Do you use "sample" and "synth" interchangeably or what?

Ignore them, people on here can be really arrogant.

Any samples or synths you have can be made to sound Lofi generally by using an eq and dropping the 200-800 hz section. I found this out recently. It helps to use a slight amount of distortion too just to make it sound a bit grainier.

Where are everyone finding out the samples from, such as this one and burials? The transformer one was pretty obvious.

you also get izotope vinyl which is free, do a search for it. Crank the dust setting to full and then set the wear amount to taste. Really good plug in for this sort of stuff. Also if you have a tape player with an input then record the sound/synth you want through the tape player onto tape. Then record the tape back into your computer. This will give you a nice analog warmth, some slight movement in the sound ( because its on tape), saturation and a nice tape compression =) It'll give any sound loads of charcter so i recommed giving it a go, try it on drums as well, it sounds sick =)

I think your looking for iZotope Vinyl

Image

Turn the knob back to at least 1950 to get the effect you want. Experiment with the other sliders to get some pops and crackles in there for a more authentic sound.

And it's free!

It's like a magical time machine :o

If your on FL Studio clone the sample/synth track, for the first track assign the sample/synth to it's own mixer track open an instance of Fruity Parametric EQ2 and choose the Old Telephone Preset.
Assign the second (still untouched) sample/synth track to an individual mixer track too, open an instance of Love Philter (i think) and choose "Simple Low Pass".

But that VST looks pretty sweet and probably will get the job done better :)
