I'm researching my next tattoo at the moment and I'm repping Evil From The Needle in Camden hard.

Jeff in particular.

All I can say to this one is fucking hell

Everyone was when they first saw the original drawing for it lol. Its actually been doubled in size, the original was an A5-sized sheet (about 1/2 my arm). But they figured the details would run into each other so we blew it up. It took them as long to trace if out as it did to do the tattoo itself (about 2.5 hours each). They happened to have a guest artist in the shop that day so they asked her do it. She was really patient and good. If I ever get round to expanding on it, I have a better idea now how to go about it so I don't drive the next people mental.

A friend of mine has a sick Mumra (mummy version) tattoo done at the same place.

2.5 hrs doesn't sound too bad. I hear some 5+ hr stories and I'm just like

yeah man as someone who has had very terrible eye sight since I was 8 or 9 (and for years after the rating got worse every year) I actually find that tattoo....not so much offensive, but more just like "you do not want to have glasses, real or fictional"

I do find the hipster fashion shit ridiculous and borderline offensive. Non-prescription glasses? fuckin stupid. but then again, if people wanna look stupid in public, that's on them. At least I get something to laugh at in my day to day life.

Yeah that wasn't too bad at all, I was literally expecting 5h. She was really quick. My mate's Mumra took 3 sessions to complete plus a follow-up to brush up on the colouring after it'd scabbed.

That guy with the glasses is a complete tool. I have no problem with humorous Tattoos but that just looks shit, infact it's quite badly done.
I have a Tattoo of my hands holding a knife and fork, they are on my shoulder blades and took 4 1/2 hours (it's incredibly detailed) . Now i'm not gonna post it as i'm yet to see a similiar tattoo online. I appreciate that the reason for this is that it's a quite ludicrous idea. I don't want people to take it out of context and post it on some random - laugh at peoples tattoos website.

I'm into random tattoos. Not a big fan of sleeves and large back pieces. I have seen some serious works of art but i prefer the chaotic style of various small/medium pieces

Not sure about my friend's, but mine cost around 450 Malaysian Ringgit (iirc), which is about 90 quid, which is about 60 US dollars. Most places in the West price by time, these guys went with size and complexity of the tattoo.

Yeah, not a fan of sleeves either. I also don't generally like imagery (that spidey one earlier was an exception), much prefer abstractions. I had another one planned for my other arm but I need to think about whether I'm happy with that yet.

I have some ideas for fairly large tattoos on my back, but they will probably sit in my head for a couple years. I also wasn't sure about posting a pic of mine up as it's definitely unique, but thought, ah well, what the hell

That's what i love about being inked. I always have something to occupy my mind. I'm constantly planning new designs and ideas.

I really like your tattoo. Very unique and in a way very hard to copy, purely because of the detail. Mine however is a concept easily taken, foodie tattoos seem quite popular at the moment. I don't want every fat bastard food critic walking around with my design

Only close friends have seen it and i guess they are the only people who would understand why i got such a design.

i just have 1 of an open upside down pentagram along with some runes on top of it, right above my right knee.
had and still has a deep meaning to me. but i'm definitely getting more.
that's the problem with tattoos. the problem is also, I won't tattoo any meaningless bullshit on my body either.

Your tattoos really fit in with you from what you seem like on here hehe. I reckon my brother-inlaw would probably be a candidate thief, he loves his food! Although he's been banned from having more tattoos (apart from names of his kids as soon as they're born) on account of cheekily getting a couple done without permission!

I just find them too gaudy and bright. Some sleeves are ok, especially the monotone black/grey ones. My tattooist had an amazing Giger-type sleeve on one arm. I also just find some of the usual skull motifs a bit cliche. And for me to have a bunch of Hindu gods tattooed on me seems a bit...rude as I'm not Hindu or even vaguely religious.

What can I say, I'd just much rather be a black-n-skin tone walking optical illusion than be permanently bright and hippy-like. It would just do my head in. I could probably do with a bit of red to offset the black, but definitely not a mix of blues, reds, yellows and greens.

I'm thinking about getting a turntable arm on my forearm with the needle sort of "penetrating" my arm. This sounds good in my head, but I'm unsure if it'll actually look good because I'm pretty shite at drawing. It's the sort of thing I can imagine looking very very shitty if done wrong.
