Ayatollah wrote:Because it's blowing up and now every kid is "Dubstep's biggest fan". So some people feel the need to prove their authenticity and oldskool-ness, and usually come off as pretentious tools by doing so.

I mean, it's easy to feel a little "better" than the kid who just discovered dubstep via Mt Eden or Borgore or whatever, if you've followed the genre for years and feel you have more insight about what is the "good stuff" and what is hype. That's only normal. But it's easy to come off as a douchebag if you insist on letting people know about your "superior coolness".
you're not hatin' on Mt Eden are ya?

I could listen to Sierra Leone all day, along with his "Still Alive" remix.

Puts me in chill mode

awhile ago in the production forum i compared this kind of musical elitism to those pointless console wars on gaming forums, and almost straight away I accidentally managed to trigger an argument on whether the ps3 was better than the xbox360 :u:

internet people need to chill out a bit :I
360 ftw
this is how it starts!!!

the worst are those, "oh, i only listen to skream, mala, loefah, etc... you listen to datsik? pfft" type of people. loads of em around these parts.

they think they sound elite or something, when in reality, they just sound like complete tools.
