I think that wasn't the best way to start the thread, but I do understand where your comming from. People definetly hate on the robosteppy shit. Fuck em'.

Why do so many people hate on the robo kinda stuff actually? :/

I dont really mind it, and listen to it at times haha.

I think it's because it's popular, lots of it is repetitive, and simple. But the sounds are awesome I think. I'm trying to make heavy tunes like that but more musical and less repetitive.

indeed explains it, and I do recognize this. I am trying to attempt the same, Though I'm not really getting rid of repetitiveness...... Gotta work on that :]

I'm trying to change my riffs up allot more. Doing 16 bar loops and completly changing the riff after the breakdown.

I prefer to so 16 bar intros. 32 is good in a mix, but just rinsing the songs on there own I find I fast forward through long intros (especially in lots of dnb god! 2 min really!?)

My formula is looking like this lately

16 intro 48 bass-with mid (changing up sounds every 16) 16 bars of sub and no grime, another 48 of bass with mids and then a 16 outro
