wont even comment on the "DJ's are not musician and have no talent cause they play other people's music..."
"its jungle trance hip hop fucking shit music" u serious ? sounds like the misinformed opinion of my dead grandma about the music the youth listen to these days
and the guy is supposed to be a punk ? (now one could argue with the 3 chords only thing and astonishing vocal performances punk music needs obviously way more talent that the "shit non music" produced on computers but i wont stoop that low...or did i just?) well this guy has to be the most tight ass conservative punk i ever heard of...
not to mention the fact he seems genuinely angry during the whole rant, makes it even more pathetic, man, stand up is supposed to be about makin people laugh and shit, not yellin and hatin into the mic like u're hitler or something...
rant over (truth is i'm at work, i'm bored and waiting for the weekend to start)
He has made a bigger contribution to contemporary music and culture than you ever will. </thread>

So did the spice girls, doesn't mean it's necessarily a good thing.
Personally, I've always been a fan of quality over quantity.
oh shit, sorry if i hurt the feelings of some of u guys, didnt meant to, as i said, it was more about killing time
and in some way i can understand how for someone misinformed who only heard generic *insert ur favorite electronic music genre here* this can sound like a bunch of retarded kids pressing buttons and twistin knobs randomly
but still, u have to admit, discarding every music made on computers because it supposedly requires no talent, is not only blatantly wrong, its just a plain dick move...
also, to people sayin the thread is irrelevant, its a production forum so the "does electronic music requires talent or did things become so easy that what we are all doing is "non music shit" ?" argument is not that irrelevant...that and its still better than the usual "brostep vs deep" or "how do i make teh wobblez ?" thread no ?
ps for people who dont know what im talkin about, make ur own opinion

wow, what a rant. weird to have so much energy for music you don't like.
Because there is nothing more culturally relevant than an American "punk-rock" rebel.
Who hate things like mass corporation and monopoly, how hilarious that his shit band played at the academy's in the UK.
Which are owned by AMG and O2, hmm I never realised the company that distributes madonnas records and the company that monopolises the economy by being the exclusive company to release iPhones are small time family owned business that deal in ethic awareness and no tax avoiding evil scary big company shit.
Punk was born in the uk 1976 and was dead by 1978 and the people that killed it were fatcat funny guy arseholes like him.
Ps what the fuck is it with American comedians lately - excluding reginald d hunter and rich hall but to name a few - they just don't have punchlines at all and also use zero wit, instead forcing the arrogant pigheadedness that is synonomous with American stars. Not only is it irritating, it's just not fucking funny. Give me bill hicks over this tnuc anyday.
heh this thread has nothing to do with production like most of the threads aaron starts, but anyone remember that canadian or british comedian who did the whole dnb dj sketch? big up the noisy neighbor etc...
also on the old freaky flow cds mc effort used to have the funniest edm related sketches http://www.tower.com/envy-drum-bass-dj- ... /106009337
last track on this link http://www.amazon.com/Envy-Freaky-Flow/dp/B0000AN4J8
more on there heh
The people dicking on Henry Rollins should point out that he is not and has never claimed to be a standup comedian, his shows are filed under comedy for convenience but he is no comedian.
I wish he'd stay off the tv with his embarrassingly shit programs but his spoken word live shows are excellent.
honestly in that video, he comes off as a little kid who can't figure out why he doesn't have any friends any more... what a dork. i can almost taste the bitterness.. i'd advise him to grow up if he said this shit to me... i like punk, but honestly that requires way less talent then any style of rave music
i disagree with just about everything Henry Rollins said in the video posted above, but Black Flag will forever by my favorite band.
punk doesn't take a particular amount of skill to play, but it doesnt take a lot to produce dubstep, either. its all about effort and the time put into your work. playing out, touring, working with other people. that and accessability.
