Ima 90% Reason 4, 4% Recycle, and 6% Sony soundforge 10 user. Yea lotta people dont like reason cuz of the vst issue. Cuz u cant just plug and play. In my opinion reason is a very powerful machine. Yea theres times where u jus wanna bash ur laptop and stomp ur midi and stab ur mouse but im sure its like that wit any other program. With reason u really gotta use ur head. So on to the mastering. The way I start is with an empty rack. The only ting in there is ur Reason hardware at top. Then a default Mclass mastering suite and mixer 14:2. Whatever I create I put in combinators to keep everyting from gettin cluster fucked.I leave all channels at default 100. If its too loud Ill drop it down using my ears and my eyes. Jus look at the level led ting. Also pay attention to ur master level on ur mixer. If u see red u gotta lower someting. If its too low Ill add a mclass eq, a mclass stereo imager to give it a lil crisper sound, and a maximizer. All this is created in ur combinator with whatevr u got in there such as subtractor, redrum, sampler and such. Then once everyting is laid where I want it I give it one last listen at high volume. While doing this I pay attention to all level indicators, including master level, and hear for anyting that stands out. Then fix what u gotta fix. And last but not least I go to the default Mclass master suite and select a patch that best suites the genre I created. I usually use dedigitizer. What I also do is have a 14:2 mixer for drums, bass and synths, Then I create another 14:2 mixer for fx, loops, vocals, and samples. That way everyting is easily found. Using this method I have never had a problem when it comes to mastering. I tink reason can master easily and better than others. Also try to use the eq/stereo imager/maximizer for anyting u create. Its like mastering while u create. If it doesnt need it then skip. Hope this helps.
oh here some unfinished projects. The first half is dnb, last half is dubstep.
I probably wont finish em cuz Im currently tryin to rethink the way I produce. Or the style I produce. But Im findin it hard cuz my ears r so used to dnb. And no this lil showcase is not mastered. They are unfinished. Peace

yeah...
widdler is an amazing producer!
he keeps himself at a distance (for understandable reasons) so I doubt he'd be down to let out his secrets via video

Hes a amazing guy! Much of his work had / and still has a big inspiration on me as a reason user. Plus he's a very friendly guy, nice to talk to. I feel honored to know him
Yeah for obs reason why he would be distance.
Its more of a discussion, rather the saying your secrets, because us reason heads don't have much, or too many people to have a discussion about master. You know, just one of them general chats

I would go with Claw as well, he is a beast. and i heard on the forum awhile back that Cookie Monsta and maybe some other folks from the Circus crew rinsed Reason for awhile? they probably know whats up, and they're pretty approachable (via facebook/myspace/whatnot)

Yeeessssssss, this is a gem piece of info. Reason is so much simpler if you put everything inside of labeled combi's... really changed the way i produce, and takes some of the tediousness out of it... and lets face it, us Reason Heads need every break from the tediousness that we can get!

yaaay that was almost English, thanks for all the help!

have you noticed though on some of his synthesis tutorials, alot of people leaving feedback saying they cant get the same results even by following the tuts to the letter?
ive noticed when he fades the shot out, and back in, the synth settings and settings on effects are different to what hes told you to do, kinda pointless exercise really
(he is good though)
