Scrumpy probably and wrongly IMO falls into the cider category, I like scrumpy more than cider :(

I miss the big fat dodgy guy who would come into our local and sell us all 4litre milk cartons full of scrumpy from somewhere in the shires. He'd randomly turn up with a van full of meat, breads, and cider... What happened to you Big Fat Cider Van Man??

He meant the Tescos own brand haha.
Brothers cider is buff.

Also, Lidl sell 2litres of 7.5% white cider for £1.60! How can a teenager say no to that.

If it comes in the same container as turps then you know you have good stuff
The stuff at the local farm shop corrodes through the container if you leave it out too long

Surely Scrumpy's just a type of cider really, isn't it? It's not been filtered for sediment as much as a clear cider and they tend to use apples that produce less fizz (and not add co2 like in factory cider!), but the process up to that point isn't very dissimilar.

My parents place is about a mile from the Thatchers brewery... one of my mates went to school with the son that's running the place now. Hell of a business... but I was interested to find out that they actually supply an awful lot of the apples for Magners... same apples as their wonderful Somerset ciders and scrumpies, horrendous industrial processing!

I like mine with just a hint of fizz... best reliable one you can get in London is Addlestones, but it always tastes better in a cider town - not quite sure why, but it's *always* fizzier (and therefore a bit watery tasting) in London.

Jus got a couple of bottles of pear gaymers on offer for a quid from tesco's... bargain... beats paying 3 pound odd a bottle in a pub...

It is and it isn't, it's usually cloudy, has a questionable ABV of around 8% or 9% and takes away your ability to walk or even crawl. It also leaves you to wake up in a hedge with two days of stubble.

The best thing about scrumpy is the range of drunks you can experience. Ashton Gate thugs singing songs about Combine Harvesters on Ashton Press and the most beautiful people you know turning into snarling animals on Natch.

Practically the same isn't it?! Clear cider is for tramps, cooking (good for Normandy Pork!) and depressed single Mums.

I don't know how people can drink what I call synthetic cider and beer, it's full of E numbers and tastes awful. I like me Guinness, real ales (slightly below room temp) and scrumpy. Occasional pint of Stella now and again. ASDA were doing Guinness Foreign Export at 50p a bottle the other week, I bought £10 worth for myself and another £10 for my dad.
