Fair enough guys. :t:

good call sills...... I should have known better than to think you would voice your opinion...wich you have shared before in talks in person with me.... on this board. we'll just add this forum to the list of things your not fully versed in. Along with grilling, glass handling, home alarm disarming, and general common logic

When I frist joined dsf I thought I would get flamed to death but I actually got some really helpful advice from some really helpful people (ty guize), I think it comes down to if you post a stupid question, you will probably get a stupid (or at least unhelpful) answer whereas if you post a fairly intelligent question chances are you will get a fairly intelligent response. simple.

But more to the original point I don't think anyone should have to spoonfeed information to fledgling producers who could (with a little efort)help themselves just by reading the stickies or hiting the search button, everytime someone new comes along asking the same basic questions that have already been answered countless times before they should be encouraged to find the answer themselves, in the long run that will help them more.

So yeah there are answers out there for most of johnnyNOOB's questions so by all means tell him where to find them (stickes, production bible etc) but just because we've heard another johnnyNOOB ask the same question a week before and the week before that doesn't mean it's cool to be a dick about it.

that's what I think anyway...
How does I wobbled bass?

PETITION FOR A NEW STICKY

Post by Echoi » Tue Mar 30, 2010 6:42 pm

Okay. I MAY be the only one, but I really dont think I am.
After much hostile reaction to johnynoob's and their production questions.
I suggest a sticky that tells us we should all just get along.
What say you?

You need to read my rig post again my friend. My discusion is about the general attitude to a new guy asking about a production method. Were not having a talk about how well you all get along with eachother.

also, im going to ignore the second part after saying this.... If you havnt read a passage on this forum that follows the basic jist of "you should stop trying to copy someone and be your own sound. I wish ppl would stop trying to make more brostep (replace with appropriate style) and start going back to what dubstep really is"

You either dont read the Prod forum on a regular basis, or are not one of us :? and I know better than to think its either of those things so I think your just being.....whats the word...... Unfriendly.

Ill say this again..... this thread is a suggestion. One that was made in hopes of bettering something that by even reading this msg you quite clearly care about. So why is hostility the route that I knew well before I even posted this would be the reaction. What the hell?
I did read your post and I stand by what I said.

DSF is friendly to newcomers. They were friendly to me. We are friendly to others. I did my part and read the stickies, did searches before asking questions, and behaved respectfully, and didn't type in all caps.

I do read the Production forum on a regular basis, not sure what gives you the impression I don't, nor do I understand why you think I am being hostile when I am simply stating an opinion that differs from yours. Re-read my post, it was an empowering statement about having the tone of this forum set by us. When new folks come on here, they are treated well when they treat the forum well (by reading the stickies, and doing their own research before asking someone else to do it for them). It's really standard (n)etiquette - I don't think the forum should expect less of our newcomers. I think DSF does amazing self-policing, and has great mods.

Dude REALLY? Im your friend and all, but if you toss some some shit like that my way again and then put luv ya bud at the end of it... Ill come back to NC just to punch you in the mouth. Notice there isnt a smiley after that one.

Like I said a few posts ago, just a thought. Obviously not a welcomed idea. I have shit ideas every day so whatever. Im done w/ it. I suppose the only plus side to this thread ended up coming from learning where a few of my "buddies" really should fall on the totum pole.
