I feel that number. Better to go out as graceful as possible.

Wiley is sick. He made some beats that NO ONE else could have made. I don't think he can take the transition of grime into dubstep tho, I heard him on dubstep beats and unlike Newham Gens, his flow just gets lost in the mix (apart from on this old Kode 9 mix I used to have wiv a track with no beat "Come to your ends and take out Hector"!!!! . He's much better on the 8bar stuff he makes himself. I had no idea he was 28 tho (beebyfeeyce), makes me feel better about myself cos I sometimes feel like I'm too old for grime at 22. He used to be my favourite British emcee for a while still, I think D Double's taking the lead though, lol.
I think they should start up Pay as U Go again

well, maybe this is just my geocentric view, but I always saw Wiley as a producer first and MC second, anyway.....so him stepping away from the mic is no real big loss, to me, as long as he keeps banging out quality beats.

Even though it's probably for the better and I couldn't agree more that grime doesn't deserve Wiley, it's still sad because I really hoped grime could have been something much better, and for all his work and dedication and originality and talent I would have liked to see Wiley getting the respect he deserves.

Much RESPECT to that man. Pioneer.

I doubt dubstep would be kwite the same if it wasnt for the early grime producers, maybe it would still be clinging to its more 2step sides. so big up wiley. ENGINEER!

nail

sick mc, but it pains me to see him disrespected so much, i hope he does retire, he deserves better than having halfarsed newboys gunning him, and getting rushed and stabbed. he's a complete musical pioneer and if the world were a better place he would get nothing but respect. but as it is, he gets practically nothing but grief, and that aint right

True words Elgato.

Is this an English thing where we seem to be keener to see success as something to be sniped at, unlike in America where someone who is that successful would be supported and held up as a role model for the scene.

Very very sad that someone who really has produced so many great records and done so much to push grime to a wider audience feels hes been forced into a situation where he feels the best thing to do is retire- that is if he is retiring. I remember first hearing his beats and thinking i hadn't heard anything like that ever- had a big effect on me for sure

Looking forward to Playtime Is Over even more now

jealousy...

I remember when Luck and Neat got big way back in the day..

Half of Kilburn wanted to offer them protection for a fee and the other half wanted to kill them.

It aint easy...

Wiley's the full package.

Producer, MC, DJ = ----> Artist.

Easily the most influentuial person in Grime by far.

I'll ring him up later and see what the deal is..
