very true... i remember first time i ever heard stuff like it and i had no idea what it was and it was obviously those sounds, i just didnt know what they were, now its rare to hear anything like that and thats all i wana hear when i go out sometimes!

"conference" and "hamas rule" are really the flashpoint of this sound in dubstep, IMO. jesus, 2006 feels like a really,really, really long time ago. The rest of us are just playing catch up to the raw, non-techno, pure-dub vibes that were coming out then. The tunes may become more developed, but the pure, fresh, exciting essence of it all-- dunno if anything will ever top that.

gotta big up LD on the drum pressure tho. Also the new material coming from KidKut on appleblim, the new material (via Kidkut) @ Immerse, and Zombies for Money.

also Benga gets criminally overlooked for the hugeness of his drums. gwaaaaaan !
