Actually. the availability of credit is one of the primary factors that has allowed the west to piss all over the world ... blah blah blah.
I find this funny though:
richard-dolphin wrote:Take it away is open to everyone (over the age of 18)...
Our priorities are:
•to encourage children and young people to develop their interests and skills in music
If I knew I could afford something over 10 installments and I wanted it bad enough, I'd go with this.
The only thing I ever bought on credit was an education though.

alright guys,
Im kind of amused the way people are seeing this as some massive scheme to get you into debt.
Its this simple, if you want something you cant quite afford but you earn enough money to pay for it over a period of time, eg. you get a mortgage, go to uni, buy a car, furniture and even get a mobile phone on contract.
This scheme gives people the opportunity to purchase equipment which before now isn't generally available on higher purchase and if it is has a massive apr% attached to it.
It's like anything if you cant manage your own financial situation you should not borrow, if however your adept at handling money then then why not go for it and get the equipmewnt you want when you want rather than waiting months.
I hope this clears up any negative views on this scheme

its 0% interest so i see it as being forced to save. Im crap at saving so if i said right im going to save £600 for some software etc i wouldnt do it ild spend it on crap....this way i have to pay as it comes straight out of my bank so im forced to save!!
Everyones circumstances are different so your 'wise' finacial advise may be good for you but not everyone.

Is the 0% interest including inflation?
Because if it's not, then you are actually paying back less than the original borrowing.

I wasnt aware you were authority on other peoples financial situations. But your input is appreciated all the same.
If you can not afford it we wouldnt accept your aplication anyway, if you can afford it, like alot of people in this country can, its an option to pay in installments to make it a bit easier on the pocket.
As explained above this is the Arts Council that are funding this in a bid to get young people involved in music. A pretty good idea considering the cost of equipment these days.
Sorry but I hate 'credit' and think it is helping to contribute to worldwide debt. I hate credit cards and think people should only pay for things when they have the money and not get stuck into monthly payments in case of future unforeseen problems. Dont get me wrong, I am not blaming you or other companies for the debt problem around the world but I go mad at my mates when I hear them moaning about how skint they are (working) and then they take out loans or buy things on credit. We should not consume like this at all.

We make our money from selling studio equipment, not by getting people into to debt. We are one of the biggest musical retailers in the uk/europe. If you wish to slander us, kindly do it in another thread and not this one.

Yeah, making money off the little people. Do you work for the man, man?
Honestly though people who don't understand the economy at all shouldn't really comment on it. It's like mental Christians commenting on science. Both are laughable.
You really think dolphin music are the ones that have helped send the world into recession or do you think it's the arts council?
Please tell me why.
A zero interest loan cannot be borrowed against as prospective income. Banks for instance would loan money to be paid by loan/mortgage money which would be used to loan again by the bank giving the loan. Essentially messing with money neither of them have. Maybe you should read up about overbuilding and breadline lending in America then you'd understand.
You obviously blame the banks/government for your situations, let's see if you feel the same when you need a mortgage instead of saving for twenty years.
If you want to give the government/banks grief then attack them personally on the genocide committed in Iraq and Afghanistan, the nearest official death toll is near 900,000. Most of which are civilians. However the government conveniently stopped counting a few years back.
I blame the banks because they traded majority of the weapons to the countries for the government.
But that is besides the point. Dolphin music is not internationally trading arms or giving risky loans to people, it isn't trying to 'rip people off' when they can't pay. One reason why this is; you can't sell second hand equipment for as much as houses.

You're speaking about before the bubble, right
What is at issue is the widespread notion that we can have everything we want now, and pay for it later. It's endemic at every level of society. Later is turning into now. There is a whole lot more later to come soon too.

Sorry but I am a firm believer in "if I dont have the money for it I cannot afford it".
You do know the whole recession is due to people borrowing/buying things they cannot afford? ie, houses in America. It has become to normal for people to buy houses, cars and TVs on credit and it has caused a world wide problem. No matter how 'adept' people think they are its in our nature to consume more than we can handle.
What I dont like about this is the fact you are spamming a forum where there could be quite a few people who are young and naive (just like I was). If you want something, save ur money up and buy it.

If you are crap at saving do not buy things you do not have money for. Learn now how to save money under ur bed or in a bank, whatever.
I would think my advice is good for everyone tbh:) your bank lender may not agree with me tho.

Nothing at all against Dolphin music. I dont agree with debt/loans and I think younger people should be encouraged to learn how to save, not borrow.
