True, but I dont even think that this will "blow" Dubstep up. The fact is, stupid 20-something girls are not going to go to Dubstep nights simply because Rusko produced a few mediocre beats for Britney Spears. First off, the grimy mid-range stuff that we almost collectively despise will not become popular with the mainstream. Even they have better taste/ sense than that. I played a friend of mine who didnt listen to Dubstep some Cookie Monsta last night and he flat out told me to turn that shit off. Mid-range trash is reserved for 14-year old boys and metal-fans who branch out into gabber sometimes. If anything, if these Britney tracks actually bring an influx of people to Dubstep shows, it will be good. We could use a girl or twodeadly habit wrote:you guys act like a handful of people define what the collective defines

Then I would have definitely converted another Dubstep soulja!!!!
He did like Skream's Remix of NIght By Night by Chromeo, but I hardly count that as Dubstep.
This whole rusko/britney thing doesnt worry me at all.

Re: Rusko producing for Britney Spears!
Exactly. You can tell he is alienated by the dubstep scene and is looking to capitalize on his apparent novelty facto to the rest of the world. Now he is living in Hollywood or some shit, and can send his kids to private school.deadly habit wrote:the man is a joker and has a sense of humor about himself (unless it's about his nipples) and is having a good time.Kaneda wrote:deadly habit wrote:should have played sierra leoneKaneda wrote:True, but I dont even think that this will "blow" Dubstep up. I think he is the real winner. Not us self-righteous douches.

Re: Rusko producing for Britney Spears!
not really ironic though is it? DMZ continue to make incredible music, and have done so since the begining. They built their sound and nights from the ground up and show love to all types of dubstep. I, for one, am glad the the DMZ dong is big enough for us to all fit on it, because it definitely deserves a ride or twodeadly habit wrote:pssshhh obviously you've forgotten the mob mentalityseckle wrote:how about we wait to hear the beats first, before slamming rusko for doing something different...

agree with seckle, how can we judge something we haven't heard? Given rusko's consistency I'd say it's a 50 50 chance of me liking it...

Re: Rusko producing for Britney Spears!
As most people into mainstream music listen to it at face value and don't really think about what is behind the track as a whole I doubt anyone who likes it will clock it as dubstep. They will literally just think whether they like it or not.

Re: Rusko producing for Britney Spears!
Funnily enough that was why his description dissapointed me so much, as it generalises one aspect of dubstep onto the rest of the genre while overlooking it's diversity and alot of it's talent along with it.deadly habit wrote:you guys act like a handful of people define what the collective defines
A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be.

If they'd asked me to work on the Britney Spears album I'd have been in the studio quicker than you can say "what's-that-Britney-you've-done-loads-of-meth-and-you're-deseprate-for-sex-right-now?".
