i got an EMX, had it for 5 years now. it was the first bit of hardware i got and it's something i would never sell, it's the most inspiring thing in my setup. i love the sequencer especially for making house music, for dubstep i prefer banging on a padkontrol for making beats. i like the sounds, the synths are simple but good for leads and the chord mode is good for synth stabs, the drums and effects are cool too.

Used to have an ES1 When i was in high school. thing was ok but got hella boring. Had to manually record the samples or put em on a zip card or something that has barely any memory, and the card if i remember right cost about half what the machine did at that time. so i never even got a card for it. Thing feels like the buttons are gonna fall off. Tought me the basics of sequencing tho ... effects are kinda fun... can only use like 8 samples at a time in the orig ones, not shure about those newer lookin ones i used one in GC it seemed fun..

I got one, played out with it a few times, fun, but should definitely be an addition to a setup, not the basis.
EDIT: I did a psytrance song entirely on my EMX, twas fun.
