Cutting up a song to use for a dubstep remix

What's up guys, kinda new here, putting my feet in the mud.

This thread interested me because I'm not a dj, musician, or producer. I'm a web designer that sits in his home office all day with no one around for miles, and I blast dub. Pretty much everything you guys have shared here.

So I hit the OP's sample song, and I was like "ok, cool, I like the Beatles, and that sounds ok", but then I get further down and happen to play SilentK's "No One" and it melted my fucking face.

As I said before I have a decent amount of time and passion to create electronic music. I also have some expendable income and I'm aware the tools aren't cheap.

But I don't want to be cheap. I would like to be able to mix my own music that moves me the way "No One" does. Eventually, 5-20 years from now.

So my question is, where do I start?

Keep in mind I am a seasoned web designer / php programmer, and I already use Audacity for podcast's and meme'ing my friends. I have a warez version of Reason, and the same with Fruity Loops. Ableton looks promising. And I have no problem purchasing these softwares if they are going to benefit me, the beginner, and not the end user.

I run 3 PC's, and considering a Mac 27".

Hey bro. Just a word of advice I wouldnt talk much about Warez here! People really frown upon that here, but I personally couldn't give a shit hah. Go here, and read EVERYTHING within it, will be of so much help to you mate. Eventually down the line when you get serious you WILL have to purchase software. Cracked copies don't run that smooth, same goes with VST's like.

Which Software (DAW) you use will have to be your decision, so learn the basics, and play about with a few, but I would personally have to recommend Ableton...

something called sampling. look into it, also you would have to chop, timestretch, and fade(get rid of popping/clicks) as well. not trying to be sarcastic either
