Neptune is records new feature, not sure if reason 5 will get it as well
Ugh, that makes it even worse, didn't even notice that.

I'm not sure how a lacklustre product and infrequent updates really warrants demanding a public boycott. Usually you call for a public boycott in response to outrageously offensive conduct on the part of a company or organisation, not because you think their main offering is a bit rubbish.

Yeah, I'm guessing by "boycott" he means "not purchase this particular product?"

But considering he didn't purchase their products before, it's still a bit confusing.

I think the boycott's about Propellerheads not listening to customers not Propellerheads making shitty software

I think the boycott is about Propellerheads not listening to him and making the software he wants.

Reason should have kept everything the same as it was in 2.5
if they had done this and worked out a way to incorporate Audio support within the 2.5 interface the programe would be ace
incorporating VST support wouldnt be an issue if their Native mix tools were better

what about combinators?
what about mclass processors?

both pointless upgrades that didnt address any meaningfull issues
mclass stuff still sounds below par

Lol, but Ihave to disagree! :)

The MClass stereo imager is the only hipass filter available for other untis to be wired through.

The combinator makes possible many patches that couldn't be achieved otherwise. It also allows for controls with no CV inputs to be modulated by the LFOs on Malstrom etc.

So I agree with your initial statement, but incorporating all the new units that have been introduced since v2.5 innit :)

The combinator pointless? It's programmer makes it possible to make very advanced patches, which wouldn't be possible without!

actually there is nothing you could do in a combinator you couldnt do without, its just alot harder and automation wise harder

I<3 combinator

Interesting stuff. When i first seen the update for Reason 5, i was highly impressed because i have long wanted a update, tho i found this could when i seen the blocks features, which i think is quite good. However, the Dr octorex player was not my thing, its does not apply to what i need to do in reason, along with Neptune, and much of the sampling new stuff, although this should be good. Am keen on getting onto the Kong, and some of the new routing functions.

However, the weight for the non- beneficial for me as a reason user, to the new updates are small in comparison to the benefits. Although i can see the new updates helping alot of other Reason users out there. I was hoping for more comprehensive updates to the software. E.g updates to sound engine, updates to the dynamical processes in reason, i would have loved a logic type EQ. etc

But with all that say, the workflow is better then any others, along with Reason's interface. So yes am i kind of disappointed but i seen have my reason AND 4.

This is just not true.

How can you assign 25 different modulations (with custom values) to 1 knob without a combinator?
