I first got into dub bout a year ago, just like these kids that OP is chatting about. I loved the filth mid range sounds of all the artists that are hated on this forum. But at least more people are getting in to it right? Even if it isn't because there listening to "proper" dubstep. I have now been shown the error of my ways, pretty much cant stand tear out/wobble and am much more on a Distance/JSL/Kryptic Minds/DMZ tip now.

Basically my point is wouldn't you rather people who have never heard any dubstep, to be listening to the likes of borgore, Rusko etc, then not at all? Once they have listened to said artists for a while, they will all get bored (As i did) and be looking for something deeper within the genre. Then move onto bass weight and the deeper sounds of dubstep.
Why?

I wouldnt rather them listen to rusko and whatnot, it's fairly unimportant as long as there are still artists willing to produce the deep stuff.

No sense forcing your opinions on other people, leave that to the atheists.

Not when you're the equivalent of Kat Stacks in the 13 yr old popstar world.

If you want to educate people on what YOU personally feel is proper dubstep then start producing, start a label, start djing, start a weekly event, start contributing to the scene as a whole.

Talking shit to people enjoying music just makes you and the sound you're pushing look like elitest pricks.

this type of stuff happens in every underground scene. punk, hardcore, dubstep, whatever. people who are on the "bandwagon" will just move on, people who want to know more and are genuine fans will get down and get back to the roots. if you have to "educate" them about it, isn't that just as fraud as them being on a bandwagon? but i see where you're coming from.

first post btw, been lurkin for a while

Why?
Because then they may discover the other side of dubstep? Your more likely to stumble across the ''proper'' stuff if your already listening to some form of dubstep. You'll start listening to radio shows where there is the cross over of the different styles, you'll start going to nights where there is a cross range of artists. I think people need to learn in whatever way they like, its like anything, knowledge is power.....but you gotta gain that knowledge first.
