Leave an imprint now because eventually the lack of sleep, smoking, and a diet that consists predominantly of whiskey will catch up to you. If they don't then karma will... because you're a bastard. - Pretty much what drives me to keep going...

This! I remember in the snow last time. I had the best ambient piece in my head. And i had so much inspiration, But it was just the world around me and the sounds i was hearing. Can be really inspiring just to listen everything as you walk down the street. Especially in the rain.wayoftheworld wrote:

Whenever I feel like my music is shit and isn't going anywhere and I just want to give up, I just remember that I couldn't stop making music if I wanted to and tell myself to stop being such a pussy and try again.
How does I wobbled bass?

Re: thoughts that keep you going
if truth be told i'm a crap musician. i listen to too much new music nowadays and it's all melting together. but there are a couple of artists and albums that i just get emotional over when i think of. not emotional in a crying sort of way. just emotional in a sort of "wtf are these feelings i'm feeling it's like utter frustration mixed with sadness and joy". the sort of music that gets you excited, makes you smile, doesn't make you think "how was that done?". so yeah that's why i personally keep going. i want to be able to grab moments of those sort of emotions i feel and put at least a bit of that in something i've created. and the only way i personally know how is through music.
if i try writing these feelings down i just end up with random words on a page. fuck a grammar.

Was in this sequoia forest,

in a clearing about 15-20 yards in diameter. The reverberance of that space was amazing. SO smooth, such a soft natural tail. The sound in that space and the nuance of human hearing puts all of our technology digital/analog to complete and utter shame. Nothing recorded or reproduced that I've ever heard comes close to the finesse of that reverberation.

I love the sound of square waves!

The fact that every great musician started somewhere and probably felt the same feelings of frustration that I often feel at some point in their careers.
