In all honesty this is the sort of vibe I expected for the album. I didn't think for a minute that they were gonna go in with dark, subby rollers or aggy tear-out bangers, or anything traditionally 'dubstep' for that matter. Immaculately produced, catchy, dance numbers with a Skream/Benga/Artwork twist, and perhaps most importantly with the potential for mainstream success. And if that's the case it doesn't bother me at all. Fair play to them.

I like it. It's MONSTROUSLY cheesy, but in a good way: you can't deny the production and the song structure, and the chorus melody really captures that breathless feel that matches the lyrics. If you're going to make an assault on the mainstream, I reckon going all-out is the way to go. Fuck it, they can drop "Trapped In A Dark Bubble" weird-outs or "Baltimore Clap" bangers whenever they like... this doesn't take away from what any of them achieve on this front.

Like the track or not, they have shown serious skill and focus in doing it I reckon. And with some of the guests they've got lined up for the album, I reckon it should please quite a wide range of people :)

Lol at people going "oh skream and benga could do far better", Magnetic Man is far beyond the little dubstep scene. I think its a good pop tune, which is what its supposed to be.

erm that tune has been knocking about since this past winter mate

not to slate it as a tune

yeah i know it's been around for a while,it's still a tune for summer,nice vibes :e:

wouldn't call this track of the summer though - for me that's kromestar - jasmine.this one is nice and all,i do like it,but tune of the summer is a high accolade to place on this one,at least in my opinion.

100% c/s

altho i personally feel mad was a much better tune to be dubstep and something mainstream aswell. this is definately a wise move by them, after being pushed so far by the dubstep hype there is a big market to catch with this kind of "mainstream-friendly-step". good luck to them i say. i cant see them losing their production values or roots nor will they just make shitty music for the sake of it. it may end up as a bit poppy but at least it will be poppy with some actual musical flair.

Exactly, mainstream music is often horrendous, but that doen't mean that it has to be.

why do i get that horrible sinking feeling that this magnetic man album will be something that will be horribly rinsed by all the pathetic indie morons and pathetic dj hipsters around shoreditch. :/ i knew this wasn't gonna go to plan when i saw them on the cover of NME.
they better make a serious amount of money from all this...

If they're good tunes, why should it matter? Elitism ruins more music than hipsters...

THERE IS ATLEAST ONE GOOD MAGNETIC MAN TUNE COMING OUT...

I heard them play it at parklife and it combines the same percussion from skream's "listening to the records on my wall" with a slightly less cheesier vocal then ' i need air'

If anyone finds the audio , hook it up. Many people are forgetting they got signed to Columbia in January , ofcourse they were gonna have to compromise their alternative sound and cash in a bit.

Also, the only tunes that will be rinsed this summer (imo) will be on ' outside the box'

STANDARD
