Obviously....
in my opinion, colouring and grouping instruments/wavs etc makes it a HELL of alot easier to find things...

example. If you have a hell of a lot vsts open and wav files in the step sequencer part, finding one thing is really hard if theyre all the same colour. NOW, if you colour, lets say, all of the drum hits red, then it will make it much easier to find that specific thing youre looking for

and i just like to keep my daw tidy

Generally, when I make a track I know where everything is.

I have all my drums by multiple pattens on one channel lane within the arrangement, automation, vsts, bass, etc.. each have their own one..

So really, having good organisation and a slightly decent memory means you don't need colouring!

P.S

I don't see how all of you manage to have such huge project files, yet your tunes don't sound messy...oh the subtley, its quite admirable.

I use the Korg nanokontrol, i has a button that allows 4 scenes, each one enters different midi so my first scene on the nanokontrol controls the red section of my mixer, second scene controls the yellow section etc etc. to say that thing cost about 35 quid and i can control the 36 channels, im more than happy with it :)

so for 140lbs you could get a 32 channel midi controller mixer -q-

My mixer is a shit tonne messier than this, sorry for an actual production related question in this thread, but is there a way in fl to move mixer tracks around? I have vivid memories of doing this but can't remember how. Don't trip if there is no way to do this, half my producing I do in my dreams, shit is a lot easier in there.

do you mean moving the mixer tracks left and right to get them in a specific order?
if so... just click on the mixer track you want to move, hold alt, and press left or right on your keyboard... or right click the mixer track and press move left/ move right.

but im not sure if youre meaning this, so if not, my badddd!

Am I the only person using FL who names each channel and each FX send?

Will get a photo up when I get home.
