To OP - okay your music totally sucks, no one other than people that like you will ever listen to or like your music... What do you do? If you stop making music because of this, okay fine, no loss. Making music for recognition or financial gain is silly.
But why not use that freedom to make whatever the fuck you want to make, to whatever standard you want. Just do whatever the fuck you want to do. I think you are starting to realize that you are FREE. You are free to do and make anything you want. I know this is scary, but it is the reality of your situation. Go for it, no one is watching over your shoulder, do what you want.

This is a myth propagated by people with talent.

There are people with musical talent, brains just wired for music. You have to realize this. Then again, you may not because you are one of those people. Talent exists. But unless it is truly immense, it is not enough. Hard work is of course required. Anyone can work very hard and achieve some degree of quality output. But when you have talent and you work very hard, you get really special works.

Great advice. Separate your self worth from the quality of your work! If you're making musical decisions attempting to validate yourself, your music will always be cautious and insecure and just generally suckagedy.
