Probably indeed, but you can always hope. That last tune Pinch played at DMZ was at Techno tempo (apparently even slower, someone said 125BPM), so there could be some sort interaction there. Or maybe Villalobos has some 140BPM stuff to unveil...
Given the stuff he's putting out at the moment, he'll only get to play 2 tunes if it's half an hour each.

Villalobos definitely won't have 140 BPM stuff to unveil. his new tune is a 15 minute bass-led groove with several mental women talking the whole way through about being MOISSSST, leaving the giblets inside the goose, and detoxing for an hour. oh, and the most mental live drums I've ever heard on a 'club' track. so uh pretty far from Pinch.

I think that's more likely than the worst-case scenario you guys described above. Villalobos already mixes dubstep into his sets. Really, it can be done.
Just google for his set at fabric's 7th birthday party.

Wowge! As mentioned in the other thread about pushing the sound the minimal dubstep/minimal techno link is really very exciting.

Harking back to Boomnoise's thread http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=14915, I think this is a good way of cross pollinating. Not just specific to techno but other kinds of music aswell. This will keep things interesting.

i dont see how this has been forced? this seems like a natural progression. even if villalobos plays his staple techno at 120 and pinch plays his stuff at its designed speed it'll be incredibly interesting, not to mention outrageously deep. it will undoubtedly alter the perspective from which to hear pinch's tunes, a perspective in which i reckon his tunes feel more at home, and can be appreciated even more.

yes very amusing pictures for sure...but the man is a musical legend in his own right.

you could have far worse connoisseurs for sure.
