Re: Analog synths
In the past I looked at some modular components and they were hugely expensive; just saw some doepfer stuff, and it was cheap. How does the doepfer stuff sound.

Re: Analog synths
In Germany Dieter Doepfer (the guy behind Doepfer audio) is a legend, kind of like Bob Moog. The Doepfer 303 clone is the best i ever heard. Connot comment on the modular stuff though, never heard it live. But i would strongly assume that its high quality and very good sounding. Maybe have a look at the Doepfer Dark Energy synth? Its semi modular and has Midi too. Its not totally out of this world like some modular setups, but still you can make lots of amazing sounds that a synths with fixed architecture cant do...nowaysj wrote:In the past I looked at some modular components and they were hugely expensive; just saw some doepfer stuff, and it was cheap. Re: Analog synths
You might also want to consider the DIY route. I put together a paia fatman a while ago and am in the process of modding the crap out of it. But for me, it's more of a fun little tinkering project than a serious music thing.
