Just a few off the top of my head:

'Electric Flowers' and 'Rainbow's End' - Red Temple Spirits

'Nierka' and 'Muted Streak' - Drowning Pool(Mid-80's LA,not the TX. Nu-Metal band!)

'Something Inside Me has Died' - Kommunity FK

'Acid,Bitter, and Sad' - This Mortal Coil

'Close To The Sea' - Sad Lovers And Giants

'Forest Fires' - Versus

'Drone' - This Ascension

'December','The Effect','and 'Echelons' - For Against

'Not Far From This' - Deception Bay

'Crushed','Pandora',It's All But An Ark Lark','Ivo',and 'Hitherto' - Cocteau Twins

'Guilt' - Modern English

'Agonised By Love','No Human Can Drown',and 'Back Door' - Clan Of Xymox

Almost anything Dead Can Dance ever did, especially the "Spleen & Ideal","Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun", and "Serpent's Egg" records.

'In A Strange Way' and 'Coreography'(it's got a nice skank to it as well) - Modern Eon

A good lot of the later Swans.

'Ballad Of Sister Sue','Dagger','Rutti','Visions Of La',and 'Spanish Air' - Slowdive

'She Paints' and'Miss You' - Biff Bang Pow!

'Indian Strings' - Suede

'God's Green Earth' and 'Down In Waves' - Idaho

Lush's "Spooky" album.

'One Watt Above Darkness' - Blind Mr.Jones

'Adoration' and 'September' - Cranes

I could go on and on(seriously,my life is a constant playlist of melancholia :( ),but I must mention that "Disintegration" by The Cure is a major one
too.

My personal favourite "unrequitted love" song. That feedback part at the end while the twisting, haunting, hypnotic lead guitar part goes on steady is just crushing...

Wow, should have read the previous posts! Haven't actually
heard those tracks I don't think, which album(s) are they from?
I've only got the Forbidden EP (which I love to bits), a recent album
(which is quite nice) & a Terrible old album - called, wait, lemme check
....'This Way Out'. Good band anyway, guy's got a wicked voice and that.

Was chatting about that Nearly God album the other day - Poems is an amazing tunes. I be the Prophet gives me goosebumps. He seemed to do his best music when he was skunked out and paranoid

I'd also say NIN's "I just want something I can never had" - usually they come over a bit too pantomime angst, but without all the bombast they can make some beautifully desolate music.

Codeine's "Frigid Stars" and "The White Birch" are melancholic to the point of inertia but write some pretty if bleak tunes

That's C.o.d.e.i.n.e by the way

The band Love?if so,yes..absolutely love Arthur Lee.

If you're referring to John Lennon And The Plastic Ono Band tune, then yes...I also love it.

If you are referring to the actual sound of love itself, then yes...and it makes me ears bleed!

Oh Shonky...

"The White Birch" amazing!'Ides' is incredibly sad and 'Tom' is all kinds of dpressing. As for "Frigid Stars",I think 'Barely Real' was a great post-heartbreak song for a good while.Loved sending it to exes on compilations.
