For me it was musical progression, I first got into Hardcore around '90, then into Jungle 92/93, then Drum'n'Bass, then UK Garage, then into the darker side of Garage, El-b, Zinc, Zed Bias, J Sweet, Sticky then... BOOM!! Dubstep happened, I can proudly say I was there from the humble beginings. :D

yeh i would go for musical progression too. but the first time i properly experienced it was when my older brother took me to dmz 3rd birthday. it was weird how i instantly connected with the whole vibe, never experienced that with any other music before.

Well i was into the uk garage and drum n bass/jungle scene anyway, few bits of dubstep was coming through this scene and also through the grime scence. Huge benga track was released on a UK garage CD and hammered on 1XTRA that i'd heard before and they informed me this was dubstep. so the search began.

I dont follow any particular genre but gotta admit dubstep has taken the front seat at present!

!Peace!

Amalgamation of Industrial acts such as Scorn. Grime like DJ Wonder. UK Garage sounds from El-B. But the breakthrough were the first couple of DMZ releases, mainly in 05.

Similar story. It had been a search to find the right sound.
