no but there's a difference between stating "this isn't my thing" and the recent attitude all over this forum of proper berating people for liking a certain sound or asking an idiot beginner question

i mean we were all idiot beginners once :/

Ah, it's just general internet forum etiquette that was the OP's downfall though. Takes a while to learn the rules and distinguish between who's gonna break your balls for not following the rules and who's not gonna give a shit.

On a lighter not, to a novice, sticky threads could sound like some kind of porn lingo for all they know?

I have been an idiot beginner for 20 years now but I don't really see the berating. I thinks all a matter of perspective.

couldn't be more wrong

there's people who literally don't understand the fact that you can find anything on google

in another thread I had to help a guy search "sony acid tutorials" on google

I still had taste in music and the good sense to look around before posting a thread.

bet he had used google before to search for other stuff though. if someone doesn't realise you can extend that and use google to search for audio stuff then that is a major fail.

that's my point

just like the idiot who just made the thread "massive" asking whether it's a sequencer or a synthesizer

5 seconds on Google would answer that question...

this is what i'm talking about. "taste in music" isn't an objective quality. some people like stuff you and i don't and that's fine.

people needing to look around for themselves a bit more i completely agree with, and i never was saying we should stop telling them this. Just this whole "my music is more intelligent/musical/highbrow/better taste than yours" attitude is painful to read.

I know and it is shit to impose my subjective preferences on others. But hey, that's what the interwebz is for. And bet my subjective preferences are better

I remember when I used to remix everything and thought it was good. Now I know it's not so I don't. He's making a name for himself and whatnot, fairplay, he's not a good dubstep producer though, we know that, just clever at marketing himself. Like Mt Eden.
