I kno there are many different drops...but there is a certain method they all use to get that distinct bassy drop sound. I gave u the certain one with the video link above...and you can make dubstep with reason using thor or subtractor sythns. I have made a few songs already I just haven't made a filthy drop yet.

i'm trying to tell you... no there isn't...
unless you're talking about subs? in that case look up legendary's sub bass tutorial
in audio design there are many ways to achieve the same result. the only way is to mess around with it till you get it right.
fact is.. everyone sucks at first. learning takes time. it might take years until you make a song you're genuinely happy with. don't get it into this at all if you're not prepared for that kinda commitment.

tru but i feel personally if u leave all bass sounds out then when u do drop the bass it will be much more special

no your into must have 16 bars no more no less, the bpm must be 140, and there must be at least two examples of samples that add nothing to the tune at all, and you must have your midrange line in the intro filtering in minus the sub (if you dare to use sub bass)

So after having a few laughs at this topic, I decided to go back and cut up one of my older samples to throw it into a quick bass drop.

Just like everyone said, there is no proper way to do a 'bass drop'. There is a very simple formula for this.
|------ No Bass ------| ---- |----- Bass -----|>>>>> etc.
The intense drop comes from proper song composition. I use FL Studios and first come up with a few quick sounds that I am happy with and than record them into a .wav file. If you want your sound to have a 'racing/climbing' effect up to the drop just add some slide. Resampling is key here and slicing up your recorded .wav file will allow you to manipulate the timing and composition of your 'bass drop' along with the drum beat.

I don't think people understand my question...I know how to make the buildup--I am talking about the "BOOM" soundeffect when the bass comes in right before the rest of the instruments. Look at the video link example I posted and go to the :26 mark. It's the sound before the wobble basslines after the buildup...

Sub bass with a ramp down assigned to the pitch will do what you want.

At the :26 mark there is the signature datsik bass wobble. Take a fm synth, make gritty bass/run waveshaper into filter/add fx.

yea it's just a patch with the mod matrix set to sound like a transformer type modulation and then through a guitar distortion/cab simulation plug
