Having talked to the guys from Wolf Eyes, Merzbow and a bunch of label owners from the UK. I really just don't think these guys are hipsters.

think it's either hipsters in self-denial (e.g. all hipsters) or they're somehow convincing themselves that liking that page and being a hipster is "ironic" (which it kinda is, in a really stupid way)

Picking and choosing parts of other scenes they think will make them look cool whilst simultaneously not understanding and completely missing the point of what it is they've actually latched onto in the first place. Nailed it. I've been trying to figure out how to explain what exactly makes a hipster, and I think this is it.

Coming out of the student union yesterday I was approached by someone with a camera who asked me what I thought of that dickhead video and hipsters.

Then she took my photo, and said it would be in the student newspaper. All the way through I was thinking "shes calling me a FUCKING HIPSTER by asking me what I think of hipsters" and I'm gonna be in one of those videos.


It makes me a hipster to be prang about being called a hipster doesnt it?

Noise is like the least cool genre ever. I mean yeah, I like it, but I don't think I'm cool for actually liking that shit ffs.

tbh i don't know anything about it. yeah i'm just saying how some people i've noticed who sort of fit the stereotype by listening to weird and obscure music and nothing else and wear ridiculous clothes. i thought these people were what are known as hipsters. not that listening to noise makes you one it's just irritating when it's used for an 'image'

I listen to noise and I sit around in my cum stained sweatpants and a dirty old grindcore t-shirt. :/ And yeah, I actually go out like that!
