the only reason why myspace is still relevant and crucial to music is that they have one of the largest marketing deals ever signed with google. the deal that tom did with yahoo is huge too. bottom line for musicians and artists is that you want people to be able to find you in a net search without being hit numer 370 on page 14 of a google search.
god there used to be a flash based site similar to this that was ill but shutdown can't remember name atm, but good to see options besides myspace, music v2, acidplanet etc for free hosting

Uploaded about half my tunes and a random picture of my ceiling.

I like the internet, it makes me feel like I'm not wasting my life :D

Thanks for the tip. The functionality and just the overall performance and ideas. It shits all over myspace.

site convinced me as well:

anyone else having problems after uploading tracks/pics with "network-timeouts" (not sure if that's the right term in english): getting kicked out and am not able to connect to the page again - after a few minutes everything's fine again and the stuff is uploaded...

actually just found out that I don't know how to quote properly. but about Shonky and his statement about internet and wasted lifes: guess I know what you mean!

i've never had any problems like that but i have heard one other person say they did.

i have three myspace accounts though and over the course of two weeks, i couldn't access two of them for 2 days each. couldn't make any edits to one of them for a whole week. etc etc

i learned fast that if i had gig info (like transportation stuff or phone numbers), to forward that to my main email. i have had friends (and it happened to me) who couldn't access things like flight info and necessary numbers on the day of gigs and such.

what a mess it is. i will keep it just because there are many people i contact regularly through myspace, but i definitely love me some virb. thanks for the heads up, parson!

sent them a bug-report about the "timeouts" - now that I know I'm not the only one who had the problem I guess they should have that fixed somehow.

but I'm happy as long as the situation is not that fucked up as with my first myspace-account (to come back to topic: fuck myspace), where after the first editing (which took me hours) and "friend requests" I wasn't able to login ever again! left my second account there about half a year ago...

Smells like spring, this one. Is there a limit on how much music one can upload?
