pretty sick. if it was reversible sterilisation e.g. an implant that lasts a few years, maybe it'd be vaguely ethical, but offering cash incentives to vulnerable addicts who aren't in a healthy state of mind in return for a life changing operation is fucked up. i wonder if any doctors will refuse to perform the procedure if they suspect this is what's going on...

Never seen anybody complain on here about the poor Indian peasants who were offered same deal for way less....just for being poor in a crowded country.

I mean, if they're stupid enough to be sterilised, then well. Might not be so bad for the gene pool. Also, some of them might actually not ever want to have kids, so why not? There are plenty of non-drug using adults who don't have kids. If anything, this is discriminatory against them. They should be given £200 too.

Because the world is far from perfect.

And there are so many lost causes that will spend their short-lived lives hammering the smack/crack, and these are the ones who shouldn't have kids.

This isn't the best solution but I find it hard to knock an attempt to try to prevent it from happening.
