Not all apply I think, I actually don't care, it's +/- my vision of dubstep (with lot's more but can't post all can I? :D) I know it's extremely weird view on dubstep don't hassle me 'bout it please :)
Edit; That's not the whole vision of course, lot's has already been posted :z: to this thread
:w: :w: :e:

Yeah man thats wicked. A different end of the stuff to me, which is the whole point of making this a thread on a forum really!
The only things I would say is that theres a couple of repeats...and Instra:mental - watching you I unfortunately don't think we can lay a claim to for dubstep at all :P Straight up genius drum and bass!

...There are quite a few tunes I would completely lump into the mindless kick, snare + bass category though

That Benga tune, Emalkay - power tool, the kromestar and kosha tune, (everything ive heard by) the others, jakes - dopeman (jakes has definitely put out far better tunes than this!), the noah d and babylon system collab, the 16 bit stuff (although again theyve definitely made some great stuff) and that jakes remix too.

...and oh my god i hate the skream remix of no future SO much. He literally took everything that was pure genius out the original, and replaced it with mindless fucking shite. And the control remix. Same thing, just completely thoughtless non-music for me (and its in there twice :P)

+ a few more bits as i think of em!

This thread really is going to be a difficult one now I look at it. As I assume Mirren (and massive big up on the effort by the way, a wicked selection) is going to have some disagreement with myself on certain tunes being unlistenable tripe :D Trouble is, the last thing this thread wants is any arguing really. The more its just tune after tune the better...but then again, a lot of those tunes i pointed out above are the exact kind of thing im trying to show the other side to!
Hmm...difficult thread :)

Can't all agree on music can we? Hehe, PM sent, just want to tell the world; it's my vision and most of it doesn't seem mindless to me and don't use 10000 sounds to make it special... They're just chillaxed tunes hehe if someone wants me to delete some just PM it :) No arguing just love peace music and lot's of weed here and I do agree with you on some tunes :)

Edit; my last post was in a hurry as well hehe :D

Big up Mirren! Differences in opinion discussed well via PM :D
I was a bit too full on. Thought that after I posted. Realised I guess its not that they're mindless, its that they're pieces of dance music, aimed at making people dance (nowhere near a "mindless" skill in itself) as opposed to what I guess I would just call "music".

Anyway, back to the matter at hand I guess. Could be a condition of posting in this thread that you tag on at least a few more bits of gold that have been missed off thus far :D

(Atki2 - Dragonfly)
Possibly the most addictive bassline ever...

Maaaybe a bit of a stretch...but I reckon dubstep can juuuust about claim this absoloute gem :D

people are forgetting the likes of:

mark one, oris jay (darqwan, dq1), slaughter mob etc. etc.

youngsta's sets past and present also define dubstep for me

one of my fav early mixes is plasticman's filthy dub promo cd from 2003, great mix of early 'wot do u call it' grime and dubstep. GET ON THAT
