yeah, i have to say, i've heard quite a few of these types of tunes like these coming out recently. i really like this ep but i hope stuff doesn't get too oversaturated with the pitched up vocals/ cheesey melodic stuff, otherwise it'll start to get like cheesy bassline house and speed garage. i like the catchy, ravey feel to them but i hope it doesn't become much of a trend...

wut actually reminds me of this grime instrumental a bit

I wouldn't say the IRL ep is better than this, definitely way different. That said, the first ep was so mindbending and original, I'd like to see a few more bits like that as well in the future.

I mean..temple keys (why wasn't this on the vinyl  -w- )
comeoooonnn..

if im gna be picky the melodie is a bit flat throughout
needs some sort of progression

but tbf i havent had a sub pluuged in whilst listening

but the irl single track was banging, the synth was a nice lil finky flex over a 140 drum beat

i do think the title is a bit bold by saying girl unit will save dubstep when mala is still making absolute ridiculaaas riddims

Girl Unit has to be one of my favourite djs and producers at the moment, his tunes are sick, pirate soundsystem remix is bangin! and that fact mix is one of my faves. WUT is sick, but i dunno if its better than IRL

I prefer the Wut release to the IRL release.

This will "save dubstep"?

I'm sorry this isn't very good. It's so incredibly cheesy.

I'd rather it wasn't saved and left as it was frankly. I mean the Jack Sparrow album just came out. If you think dubstep needs saving from that then I'll embrace it's death with open arms.

Well put, sir!

Icicle, Ben Verse, Kryptic Minds, Jack Sparrow et. al are doing a very nice job already, and not resorting to cheap club antics.

So far noone has actually made a case for why this stuff is good. Sounds like fat, club-worthy productions, decent, but repetitive rhythm, and straight up BORING melodic progressions, if any. If this is "label of the year" we're really in trouble...

well for the first part...that's your opinion. thanks for sharing.

secondly, I myself and i'm sure most other sane members of this forum would agree there's plenty of great releases coming out all the time. I definitely agree dubstep's doing just fine.

again, you sound like a prick. people like what they like. I have several records of every single artist each of you just listed.

grow up.

No need to get snippy now...

This isn't personal, it's artistic. I think you are exalting very bad art. I wouldn't mind a decent discussion on the merits of Girl Unit or Nightslugs, but thus far all I've seen is "this is mahooosive"... "label of the year, hands down"...

WHY??

I'm not snippy. why are we "in trouble" as you put it? because it's not to your taste? I made it clear all over this thread that it's cool everyone has their own opinion.

so word up brah, i'm mellow.
