Would be great to meet some heads there, I bet the dubstep room is not gonna be full house. Couple years ago we were just a handful of people on the MRK1 set when there was like 15000 in the room next to it

I was there supporting MRK1 and Virus

I'm NOT anti-sonar. It is very good for the city. 80,000 people need hotels, restaurants which means big dollar for local economy.
But - some tasty action will be off-sight independent shizzle - trust.

I'm there again this year but won't be going Sonar Night, its just too massive and soul-less. There are plenty of wicked parties in the city at night to keep you occupied anyway.
The day vibe is definitely where its at, soaking up the sun listening to drones and techno, don't even care that much about the line up in the day, though Junior Boys are playing this year so will want to catch that.
Hopefully (as someone else said) there will be some smaller dubstep nights around the festival.

first time for me last year, I agree that the actual sonar party is waaay too massive to really lose yourself in. Although having said that, it's probably worth going once just for the spectacle of it all (especially at the end when everyone is leaving, it's like being an extra in a bad zombie movie), just don't expect to make any friends that you'll see more than once in the night.
The general vibes throughout the city and the off site parties are what made it for me, fucking magical times. And hopefully, as people have said, some of the dubstep heads will be at some of these.
looking forward to it already.

F... THE SONAR.... rich kids organizing macro raves to become even richer..... F... THAT.... Used to go to Sonar 1996-2001 and it just gets worse and worse. Day time things can still be alright (went last year and had a good time specially because you can go with ya kids and of course cause I didn´t pay the stupid prices they charge) but at night it says nothing to me, pretty horrible place, crap toilets, hours to get a drink etc etc..... F....... NIGHTMARE...... If you coming to Barcelona on the Sonar days, there will be a good Dubstep/Breakz party in a cave close to Barcelona (the place is amazing you will never forget the club.... TOO MUCH) and for sure that´ll be the one to go too. I´ll try and post the line-up cause for I have been told its gonna be good. And they will be charging what we call popular prices for the entrance, I think around 20€/ 2 nights, so we can all go. If you´re round BCN you can always pop-in Tasmaniac and ask (dei all involved) Ramelleres Nº15 (very close to the top of the rambla).

Not being funny here and disrespecting what expossure MAH has given the scene but why would you book her to play at a party?

^ cause she's got plenty of very good music on her bag?? I don't know, maybe you expect a dj to be scratching the hole set, or to be making 4-minute-long mixes, but there's a lot of boring dj's who do that. I prefer them to play good music.

I agree about the Sonar, but last few years most of the parties around the city (at least legal parties) are even more soul-less, oriented to Ibiza-esque posers (respect for them, but not my cup of tea).
Let's hope the Barna souljahz change that this year.

i was invited by Sonar to put this UK Dubstep showcase together for them and worked with them to book the specific artsists they wanted on the bill ... to get a get breadth of different textures of sound... pioneers and young stars... and artists representing different areas of the UK.. which was hard given the fact there's only 3 hours stage time...
this showcase takes place Friday night June 15th on the SonarLab stage 12-3am... sets are 45 mins
MAH
Kode 9 & The Spaceape
Oris Jay
Skream
these sets and others will be recorded and highlights played on my Radio1 show..
given that there are artists in to play from 60 countries this year, and an audience just as diverse, i hope it will be fascinating for everyone...
delsa... i am invited to play at parties almost every week, because people enjoy the music i bring.. simple as that really..
