Kromakey: A bit of clipping going on I think but I can imagine this being really heavy on a system. Really like the synth/effect between the bass hits. I would prefer some more melodic elements but that's juts me. I know people like it minimal.
Psychomantis: Very good stuff I must say but you should really give feedback as per the forum rules before people will give more elaborate feedback! :)
mindcontrol: Interesting use of the sample but I do not think you should put the delay on it. It's enough to use as you do the first couple of times. Short but what's there is nice. I think I get the idea. Continue on it!
Mute-atioN: Haha, not sure but I really like it actually! Really random but inspiring! Listened a second time and it even grows on you. I need to check out your other stuff.

Here is a new piece I'm working on. SoundCloud put some strange artifacts in the bass, not sure why but they are not there in the mp3. Anyway, all feedback appreciated.

@marshy : feeling the vibe of the tune, the 1st minute could use a bit more variation perhaps ? Good progression with the voice on the 2nd part.
What is it so down quiet tho ? Anyway, good work mate, finish it! :)

@ KingNoble : This one's right up my alley, I love the work on the drums & pretty much everything with the arrangement. Nice one combining the funky lead and the reggae vibe.
It sounds finished to me, why is it on the WIP thread ?

@ Grok : This one's particularly wicked and the mixdown is excellent. Very much release worthy imo! :D

Mine has potential too I believe (for those who like brutal stuff) but I'm stuck atm, I need to have a break and get back at it later, same for the mixdown.
Thanks for listening

@Mute-ation : Quite an original tune! I like this! The progression is really interesting.
The mixdown can be improved tho. The bleeps and stuff could be a bit louder and overall it lacks trebble.
Cool tune really! :)

@Daft tnuc - feelin the intro,main body is nice and varied with beat which is not boring and quite skankable/dance - able,

@grok - nice and powerfull apart from the semi 8 bit synth...if its my tune I will get rid of it - as this has a potential to be a heavy slab

ok - posting mine -r-

@Phigure: I know its a bit late in the thread but... I just had to say that I love that the wobble turns upp just at the last minute in the tune: I feel cheated, but in a good way ;) Otherwise I kind of agree with former speaker that the beat (kick-snare-thing) could be a bit louder in the mix than the tablas.

Thanks mate! Yeah mixdown is really quiet at the moment, think i'm too scared to turn everything up.

Thanks all for the feedback. Took the distortion out of the main 8-bit sounding synth. The synth seems a bit one dimensional though, but I guess it works with the track. Might mess with it a little more.

...and as to why I posted in this thread... It is VERY close to being a finished track, but wanted some final input before I left it as is. I'm glad I did, helpful comments as usual. thx.

@Substep infrabass-rectal: The words brutal and bludgeoning comes to mind… erh, hang on, thats the name of the tune…

@ Marshy: Beautiful intro… makes me think of the old Miami Vice tv-series. The choiresqe synthsound could use a slight variation every now and then instead of the same two notes repeating just to make its presence known for half a bar and then sink back into the background where you put it. I’m not making any sense, am I?

@Grok: Nice tune, love the wobbly section. The highpitched melody in the beginning… It sounds to me like an old videogame, but in a bad sense, it’s a bit harsh. If it where my tune I would try to filter out (or similar) the highest frequencies or perhaps just play the melody an octave lower, and sweeten the sound with a little (more/different) reverb.

@Mute-ation: “what have i done? seriously, what is this?” Well, I don’t know what it is either, but I would slap some samples from – I don’t know, an American 50’s movie a’la the orb – on it as well. And maybe find somewhere in the middle to make a break/drop and – oh wait, you did at 1:40ish… But a break like that (in a tune like that) could be a completely different music/sound/feel than the tune itself, just to emphasize the craziness of it all. I love the metallic basssound starting at 3:00…

@ Mute-action: Not entirely sure whats going on here, very random.

@Grok: Surprizing clarity on the snare and kick with that bass, seems pretty solid overall.

Something Im working on, just bare bones really.

Daft, I fuckin loved it! that drop was killer! i also like how you have your drums layed out. sorta shuffle-ey feeling. great job!

Grok, Loved the intro! the synths all go together very nicely and i feel the bassline is perfect for the track! although i may suggest turning down the sidechaining when the snare hits just a bit. other than that i say bravo!

KingNoble, i thought this track was epic! i love how you incorporated a nice chill reggae sound with some hard hitting wobs. love the synth too :)

I just started this one a couple minutes ago. im on Windows 7 now (i produce on XP) so ill completely restart it using Zeta+ and all my other good plugins later.

still lookin for some feedback on the track in my sig too ;)

@Weed Cali

Maybe it would sound better if the voice wasnt pitched up but its nice

@Astral

Like the glitchy feeling... the 4/4 part in the middle sounded pretty cool...

@Emm

The bass gets kind of monotonous... you should turn up the percs.... overall nice idea :m:

@Substep Infrabass

Crazy! Change the bass up a bit to make it more interesting..... It would sound cool if you used real drum samples to give it a metal feel on the blastbeats.... But its really good as it is

@Daft tnuc

I fucking love this song...I love the rhythm and how the bass and the drums fit perfectly together

Here's Mine..... It's not exactly dubstep.... I was playing around and decided to mix psytrance elements with dubstep and the result was this :m:

@den5hion - mind melting sounds dude, i think it would sound way more awesome with the half step though. keep it going!

@weedcali - voice pitchshifting is a little off and the song could use a lot more going on in it. keep it more dubby!

@astral - sounds good but dunno where you're going with it. not really my sound.

@emm - i think it would sound really good if you used a better mid range with more excitement in it.

@substep infrabass - sounds like an electronic suffocation breakdown with an awesome amount of bass. awesome.

edit: forgot to add the song i wanted critiqued. vaski's jelly remixed for a contest

This is a new track I'm working on, I'd like to know how you guys like it?

-I need to cut the basses a little

@Kromakey - I like the submarine sound, id put different kicks n snares in it to give it more of a dirty sound?

@Slinkee - Theres no actual bass on this, it sounds a little too quiet to me and you use panning too much, but nice concept

@ogunslinger - at 1:00 your track and the vocal don't match, and i wouldnt use robotic wobbles on the song with a chick singing "baby im a rock star"

I have no musical background and have been using Reason for almost a month.

the other track I produced sounds like garbage because I didn't know anything about anything, but this track may still sound like garbage to the trained ear! Please, be critical. I know i need it.
