brent wrote:i got into dnb around 1994. i still have love, but moved toward dubstep in 2006. i like what ASC, dBridge, etc. are doing. i also got my turntables and mixer in 2008, almost strictly for dubstep. i used to check every dnb release to see what was what, but now that's reserved for dubstep. i have no idea what's going on in the dnb scene any more. i've only got so much time!
This, almost word for word.

except I aint that old man :) got into dnb about 2002, dubstep became main focus around 2007...

still have love for dnb, its just a bit rinsed out in my head and does not excite me in the same way as dubstep, though I am into dubstep producers that clearly have a lot of dnb influences like Truth

For me Dubstep is better for dark, minimal stuff because of the space in the music. But Liquid D'n'B any day over 'Purple' or 'Jazzy' Dubstep.

i deifnitly listen to more dnb and have been for longer but dubstep is still like the perfect marriage of tempos and styles of my biggest music influences...hip hop and dnb. so i dunno now adays a really good dubstep track that really hits me hits me harder then a good dnb tune will but i am more often amazed by older dnb and alot of the newer dnb out today. the great thing is it doesnt have to be a one or the other thing for me, just about the right amount of good music for me between the two. i still like making dubstep more then dnb though.
